Happy Women history month!

This month, not only does Red Ink take a closer look at women in history, but our authors do as well. Today, we were able to sit down and have a talk with our CEO and author, Aminah Iman about her inspiration from Women in literature.

Hi, Aminah!

Aminah: Hello, haha

We are happy you took this time to appreciate the women in history that paved ways for not only the rest of Red Ink Publications but for you as well

Aminah: Thanks so very much, I am honored to be apart of it

Can you tell us a little about who your inspiration is?

Aminah: My inspiration for women's history month and our own little spin by adding literature is Anne Rice, I picked Ms. Rice because she is a brilliant author and reading her books early on influenced the genre in which I write.

When she managed to influence your genre and your writing did you ever dedicate a character in her honor?

Aminah: No I never did, because to me her characteristic exceed any that I could have come up fictionally. Trust me I've tried.

Haha we don't doubt it. If you got the chance to meet her, what is the first three words you'd say?

Aminah: Three words? I can't-- It'd be thank you so much haha that's four words.

We'll let you cheat a little and count that anyways. What do you think you and your inspiration have in common?

Aminah: Well we are both female authors and we both write horror novels. Not to compare myself to Anne rice at all but we both have extremely strong characters in our books.

*Sniffle, Sniffle* We aren't crying, trust us! And lastly, If you were able to teach them anything in return what would it be?

Aminah: In all honesty I do not believe that there is anything that I could teach her (Anne Rice) her writing is brilliant, her characters are strong. She as away of making you sympathetic to the hero and the villain. I honestly don't think there's a thing I could teach her.

Thank you Ms. Iman for entertaining, for enlightening and for sharing your love and admiration during the month that women unite as one.
