FALLEN: THE AWAKENING

Mailfius teleported Saveus to a lavish condo on Bourbon Street, they would lay low for a while until they figured out their next move. He armed their fortress with protective spells and alarms ahead of time to keep them undetected from angels, demons, and hunters. He helped Saveus onto a black leather sectional, as he fetched something cold to drink from the fridge. Saveus laid there, arm throbbing but ecstatic to be out of bondage.

“Good to have you back, how was limbo by the way?” Smirked Mailfius.

“Fuck you, limbo would’ve been heaven compared to that infuriating cage. Do you know what it’s like to sit in a teenager's head? They have the most idiotic thoughts that make you want to gouge out your fucking eyes. I had to constantly think murderous thoughts to stay sane.”

“But you’re in control, right?” Mailfius tried to hand Saveus the drink but he refused, instead he pierced Mailfius with eye daggers, but he continued on.

“I saw what happened back there and the wound hasn’t even begun to heal.”

“Have you forgotten who I am? Or do I have to remind you?” Saveus responded without blinking.

“I’m simply concerned,” Mailfius took a seat on the matching love seat as he manifested a glass of scotch in his hand. “We don’t need Gabriel popping his head out, and getting in the way of what we have to do.”

Saveus anger disengaged, as he realized Mailfius spoke the truth. He looked down at his new arm, and even though there was no physical damage, he could still feel the heat of the flames. ‘That bastard, a few more seconds and that whore would’ve been dead and buried. No matter.’ He thought. “You were always too damn nosy for your own good, it’s going to get you killed one day.” He said with a cocky smile, “As for the boy, don’t worry. I buried him so deep, he doesn’t know where his ass ends, and his head begins.”

“Just don’t underestimate him, he’s stronger than you think.”

“Who’s stronger than me.” Saveus stood up with a murderous look in his eyes.

“Don’t be so dramatic, let’s focus on the mission ahead.”

“You’re right, time is wasting. I need to take back control of my realm, but first, where’s Lagnos? He tried to ruin me, it’s only fair that I return the favor.” He said with a sick smile.

There was a brief moment of silence.

“Now that you mention it, where is Lagnos? Last time I saw him, he was lying unconscious on the floor. He must have escaped during your transformation.”
